I received them Novemeber 25th 2018. Tools have been great so far except for the reciprocating saw. I noticed it was making a weird noise, but it was working. I used it a handful of times to cut drywall. I’m a finish carpenter and it’s a great tool to have handy when the drywallers overhang their drywall passed doorway rough openings. The last time I tried using it the motor completely seized up and started smoking. I was using a fully charged 20v 5ah battery. I’m guessing the saw is defective.

Comment on Battery Adapter by Maria http://demo.themepiko.com/construct/demo5/shop/battery-adapter/#comment-17 Mon, 08 Jul 2019 07:09:11 +0000 http://localhost/demo5/?post_type=product&p=407#comment-17 I, too, have discovered that DeWalt batteries left attached to this adapter will run completely down overnight. Given DeWalt’s own statement that “You should stop using a battery as soon as you feel a substantial decrease in power from the tool. Completely running down a battery may damage it” this dies-while-attached behavior directly contributes to the ruination of the battery. If you suspect you will occasionally forget to detach the battery when done using the tool then this is probably not the device for you, especially given the cost of replacement batteries.

Best battery powered blower I’ve ever used. Love that it is FlexVolt compatible because I own a few other tools. Can’t wait to make my next purchase!

Comment on Portable Generator by Mike Jolley http://demo.themepiko.com/construct/demo5/shop/commercial-portable-generator/#comment-15 Mon, 08 Jul 2019 06:52:05 +0000 http://localhost/demo5/?post_type=product&p=395#comment-15 It works great with a vacuum and chipping hammers. I have mainly used it to power a KRK monitor for job site music or even at the park or beach. It could benefit from a pure sine wave inverter but could up the cost and affect efficiency in some way. Overall it bumps music all day and is what I wanted it for. If you plan on using this off grid as a backup power supply it’d better be for something small as this unit will only supply 720 watt hours of energy with four 9 amp hour batteries. Parallel charging at 3 amp hours means the 9 amp hour batteries take three hours to fully charge from flat.

The day I got it I took it out plugged a beefy 6a.h. 20v battery into it. Went out front of my house in the middle of the street and shinned the light down about 40 houses (in the city) and I could see old Mrs. Whittickers bright white dentures.

Comment on Next Gen Circular Saw Blades by Ryan Rayan http://demo.themepiko.com/construct/demo5/shop/next-gen-circular-saw-blades/#comment-13 Mon, 08 Jul 2019 06:46:35 +0000 http://localhost/demo5/?post_type=product&p=386#comment-13 Strong saw and battery life lasts

I bought this with apprehension but today I really put it to the test and man did it do the job. I was ripping home milled 2X12’s and it literally blew everyone’s minds. I used a 4AH battery and literally used it all day while building a few things for the kids. I was waiting for the battery to weaken but it didnt. Once home I placed the battery on the charger and it was fully charged in about 10 minutes. Now I ripped 2×12’s, and cut I dont know how many pieces with this saw today and it never backed off. I wish it had a few metal parts where there is plastic but hey, 99 bucksand what it did for me today I cant complain…five stars all the way Thanks.

Comment on Tape Measure 25 ft by MAgnus Gau http://demo.themepiko.com/construct/demo5/shop/tape-measure-25-ft/#comment-12 Mon, 08 Jul 2019 06:43:45 +0000 http://localhost/demo5/?post_type=product&p=381#comment-12 Better than the competition, tougher than the rest

The DeWALT 25ft XP Tape Measure is the latest in my collection of tape measuring tools. I decided to put the XP Tape Measure to the test – wanting to see if this could hold up to other DeWALT tape measures and their competitors. The first thing I noticed was the tough casing. It’s been advertised to withstand 60′ drops! So I dropped it from the roof of my workshop and the tape recovered without a scratch!

I also noticed the first 9 inches of the tape were stronger than the rest. This was intentional and I appreciate this additional feature.

Next, I decided to see how it held up in its standout feature. It’s advertised at a 13′ standout, and though I wasn’t able to achieve that length, I WAS able to notice a remarkable difference between this tape and the others in my collection. My other DeWALT (non XP) measure reached 11′, 6″ before snapping, while the XP almost reached 12′. (The other brands were less than 10′ before snapping down.)

Finally, I appreciated the hook which is able to grab at all four sides when grabbing objects to take measurements.

I’m happy to say that I will be using this tape as my primary measuring tool, with DeWALT’s former model as my backup.

Comment on Cordless Compact Drill by Gerhard http://demo.themepiko.com/construct/demo5/shop/cordless-compact-drill/#comment-11 Mon, 08 Jul 2019 06:37:39 +0000 http://localhost/demo5/?post_type=product&p=375#comment-11 Good drill good price .

I bought this drill about 2 months ago. I use it almost every day. Fits in small places with plenty of power to do most jobs. I have one complaint. All the specs i read on this drill say max rpms are 1600. My drills tag says 1750. Why? Great drill light weight fou use for extended periods of time without arm fatigue. I am 66 so that is important.

I purchased this late on a Sunday when my Hitachi broke in the middle of a project. It came with two fully charged batteries which allowed me to finish. Over the next few days I used it very hard. Not one glitch, even when I used it outside in cold weather. For less than $100.00 it is proving to be a great drill. Only reason I give it 4 stars for durability is that while I have used it more than most people would in a short time under heavy conditions, I can’t speak to it’s long term durability yet.
